Our Story and Strategy

Leadership, Impact, and Vision 2030RAW Performance CIC was established in 2022 with a clear social purpose: to make structured fitness and wellbeing accessible to those who feel excluded from traditional gym environments. Our founder, Steven Tallis, shaped the organisation from a first-hand understanding of how structured training and supportive leadership can transform confidence. With a 15-year background in military preparation college and extensive experience delivering fitness programmes for young people, Steven designed RAW as a consistent environment where people can attend as they are and progress at their own pace.

As a Community Interest Company (CIC), we are legally committed to reinvesting our value back into the community. Our structure ensures transparent decision-making and a clear public benefit rationale for everything we do. We have built a strong track record of delivery, supported by national funders such as the National Lottery and the Veterans' Foundation, as well as local authority partners including Bridgend, Caerphilly, and Newport City Councils. This diversity of support provides a stable platform for our 2025–2030 strategic plan.

Our long-term ambition is to be recognised as a mature, scalable community wellbeing asset across Wales. Success by 2030 is defined by a consistent network of hubs operating to a clear blueprint, ensuring that delivery is high-quality and not dependent on any single individual. We aim to complement existing health services by offering a practical, place-based intervention that helps communities build healthier routines before they escalate into high-cost clinical needs. Through disciplined growth and measurable outcomes, RAW Performance continues to prove that when you remove barriers, you build resilience.
